Mixtape (“the extension”) is a music player for YouTube. We designed it to keep your data on your own device. This policy explains what data is involved and how it is handled.
Your playlists, song ratings, settings, and listening statistics are stored
locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage. Your playlists are also synced
across the devices signed in to your own Chrome profile using Chrome’s built-in
storage.sync, which keeps the data within your Google account. This
information is not transmitted to or stored by the developer.
To find and play the songs you choose, the extension reads public YouTube search results and controls the video on the YouTube playback tab (play, pause, seek, volume, and — for Pro users — muting and skipping ads). This processing happens locally in your browser. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store this content, and does not track your browsing or watch history.
If you upgrade to Mixtape Pro, payments and licensing are handled by ExtensionPay and processed by Stripe. To manage your license, ExtensionPay collects your email address. Payment card details are entered on Stripe’s secure checkout and are never received or stored by the extension. Please see the privacy policies of ExtensionPay and Stripe for how they handle this information.
You can clear your playlists and stats at any time inside the extension (Settings → Reset stats, and by deleting playlists). Uninstalling the extension removes its local data. To delete a Pro account/email on file, contact us or ExtensionPay.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
